So, the Project 2012 is CrushList.com
CrushList.com “explainer” video:
Due to some last minute code modifications and user experience changes, I have decided to push the launch date to 5/28/2012.
This CrushList.com idea was originated when my 10 years old daughter asked me how to revel her crush to a boy she likes… My daughter and I then spent the next 3 hours on ideation and brain storming. The very next day I started to pull together a team with developers from China, mobile developers and QA resource from Taiwan, UI/UX specialists from NYC with my daughter been the chief producer reviewing and directing all the creative design and the video creation… She had lots of fun through out this entire process!
Again, some interesting stats about CrushList.com
After months of delay and many iterations on UX, Project 2012 beta is now planned to go live on 5/21/2012.
Some interesting stat with Project 2012:
Project 2012 is a dot-com with extreme high virality (wait till you see it), the entire experience has only 4 pages, designed with multilingual capability, initial beta launch with 3 languages, pre-loaded with 575k active member base with members from 13 countries across 4 continents…
Don’t say WOW yet… Wait till you see it!!!
The commercial video is plan to be launched on 5/13… So stay tuned…
On 4/5, President Obama singed the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act and my project 2012 is nearly beta ready.
Have dealt with angel and VCs before but never CrowdFunding. Seriously thinking about giving it a try. KickStarter.com, Indiegogo.com, CircleUp, etc… wonder if they have standard termsheet in place?
It all started on Tuesday evening and for the past couple days, I have been coughing, having body ache and headache to the point I can’t even stand and today fever kicked in as well…
Not sure what it is that I got but I think last time I was this sick was probably 10 years ago…
Experimenting different kind of medications in hope to ease symptoms.
If it comes to the worst, I will have to go with the ultimate medication:
Just kidding 🙂 Trying to keep up the good spirit!!!
Oh shit… I feel awful…
this post is about the culture difference between old school and new school that I experienced earlier this week…
For the Q112 report out, I prepared a deck that summarized all our achievements in the first quarter. Needless to say, I am extremely proud of what my team, 1Web, has achieved in the first quarter of 2012!
I socialized the deck with some of my web none believer colleagues, the old school people if you will and after the walk through, I was questioned that maybe I sugar coated it too much and perhaps I should include some bad news within the deck…
I was thinking to myself… pretty much every successful stories in the deck started off as bad news/stories at the beginning of the quarter and it is only through months of tired less iterations and continues refinements that we turned all these lemons into lemonade.
Web projects are not these big enterprise waterfall projects most people in the company are custom to. The WEB way is that we try small, we failed small, we learn from it then we just try again, nothing is impossible and never give up. Turn bad stories into a awesome stories is why we have jobs.
Frankly, I am not custom to tell bad news, I really don’t want to BUT that is not to say that I am not afraid to, I just want to make sure that I have tried everything within my power/authority first before throwing in the towers and declare the news is bad.
We’ve got enough bad news these days, who really wants more?
Someone in Baltimore county has just won the largest jackpot in this history, $640 million! And one of the hottest local search terms this am is “is baltimore city in baltimore county?” The answer is no. Baltimore city is not consider a part of the county. 🙂
